My story
I am a registered General and Obstetric Nurse, Registered Midwife, and now endorsed Midwife.
In 1990 I set up a birth business in New Zealand supporting women to birth at home and at hospital, during this time women taught me how strong they could be, and I found women choosing to birth at home had better outcomes.
I then moved into home birth for all women.
After 35 years of being on call I decided to come to Australia to tour around and do agency work. I ended up staying in Mackay for 5 years, working both in management, birth center, and women's health. I started to miss the home births, so I completed my endorsement through Griffith University, and am now registered to take on home birth clients in and around Mackay and Whitsunday's.
Over the last year I have been working with Midwife Clarice from Airlee beach, we have supported many women to birth at home with great outcomes, both first time mum's and previous births.

What I Provide
|
Visits in your home or clinic to suit you. Appointments usually take about an hour with your partner, children and support people welcome to join us. spending time getting to know each other and building a relationship of trust and respect. Antenatal visits are usually every month then more frequently in the last two months. Your visits will include monitoring you and your baby, education on birth and breastfeeding. As an endorsed midwife i can order any relevant tests, e.g. ultrasound and bloods. i can prescribe any scripts you may require, and can refer you to specialist care should you require it. Postnatal care up to six weeks post birth, including 6-8 visits. |
